How to achieve stunning wedding photos!

Always wandered how you can achieve those dreamy wedding photographs that you see in the magazines?

Camera shy and a little worried about how your wedding photographs are going to come out?! Well I'm here to help! Here are my top 5 tips to successful wedding photos.....

1. Have a pre wedding photo shoot!

I know what you're thinking! Why would you want to spend even more time in front of a camera right!? But trust me on this one, this is the perfect opportunity to get to know your photographer and practice some easy poses before your big day. It also gives you a great opportunity to book in your hair and make up trial before your shoot.

2. Communicate well & get friendly with your wedding photographer

We love getting to know you before you tie the knot! Why? Because if we have everything organised before your wedding day it's going to be a breeze for both of us! Allowing you to relax and enjoy your incredible day! From my experience this makes a huge difference to the outcome of your wedding photos.

3. Share your inspiration

I love hearing your ideas! Sharing photos with me gives us both a better understanding of styles that you like and images that we can create for you on your wedding day. It's important to me that I capture the photographs that you've always dreamed of having.

4. Check out your venue beforehand and discuss with your photographer where you would like your location shots taken.

It's a great idea to do a walk around your chosen wedding venue before your big day if you haven't already. By doing this you can decide where you would like those all important couple shots taken! These are my favourite photographs as it's the only part of the day the bride & groom are alone and I get to capture all of the love!

You may want to sneak off in your wedding car for an hour to a nearby forest or river for these? It's also important to consider a wet weather option for your wedding photography as you want to make sure that we can still capture some gorgeous photographs of just the two of you!

Have a chat to your wedding venue about the best spots to go at sunset so that we can make sure to get those gorgeous sunset photos for you too!

5. Send a list of must have family photos to your photographer in advance

Lets be honest, who doesn't love looking through a wedding album and enjoying all of the family photos?! They are photographs that stand the test of time. Providing your wedding photographer with a list of traditional group/family photographs that you would like taken on your special day will help them to be prepared & organised.

On this note less is often more! I believe it's really important to capture these photos however you don't want this to be taking to much time out of your day therefore I usually suggest a maximum of 10 combinations for this group style. I can then capture all of your guests enjoying themselves in a more photo journalistic style for the rest of your day!
